Q: What is the lead time for your rugs and tapestries?
A: It depends on the piece. Ready-to-Ship items are processed and dispatched within 1–3 business days. For Made-to-Order and Custom pieces, our artisans handcraft your item from scratch, which typically takes 4–8 weeks depending on the complexity of the design.
Q: Do you ship worldwide?
A: Yes! We ship globally using reliable carriers like DHL and FedEx. Once dispatched, standard delivery takes about 5–10 business days. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order leaves our studio. Shipping Policy
Q: Will I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?
A: For buyers in the United States, there are absolutely no customs duties or import taxes—we cover all of these costs for you. The price you see at checkout is the final price you pay.
Buyers in Europe and other regions are responsible for any local customs duties or import taxes that may apply upon delivery.
Q: Do you accept returns?
A: We want you to love your handmade piece. We accept returns on all Ready-to-Ship items within 14 days of delivery (buyers are responsible for return shipping costs). Please note: Because of their personalized nature, all Custom and Made-to-Order pieces are final sale.
MATERIALS & CARE
Q: Do your felt rugs and tapestries shed?
A: No, they do not shed. Unlike mass-produced or loosely woven felt, our authentic shyrdaks are crafted using a centuries-old wet-felting technique combined with dense hand-stitching. This locks the wool fibers together permanently, creating an incredibly durable surface that withstands daily use without pilling or shedding.
Q: Does the wool have a strong odor?
A: No. While poorly processed wool can retain a heavy lanolin smell, our wool goes through a rigorous, repeated washing process using hot water and organic soap. By the time your shyrdak or tapestry is finished and dried in the fresh air, it is completely clean and odor-free, ready to be placed immediately in your home.
Q: Are felt rugs susceptible to moths or pests?
A: Our traditional wet-felting and pressing process creates an incredibly dense, tightly interlocked material that is naturally inhospitable to dust mites and insects. Because the wool is thoroughly cleaned of all organic oils and dirt before felting, it does not attract pests. Regular vacuuming and normal indoor light are all you need to keep your piece perfectly safe and pristine.
Q: What materials do you use?
A: We use strictly 100% natural, premium sheep wool, hot water, and organic soap. No machines, no synthetic blends, and no mass production. Every piece is an authentic, sustainable work of art.
Q: How do I clean and care for my felt rug or tapestry?
A: For the best results and longevity, we highly recommend professional dry cleaning.
For minor spills or special cases, gentle hand washing is acceptable. Use lukewarm water (no warmer than 95°F / 35°C) and a mild, wool-safe soap.
Important: Never use hot water, washing machines, or vigorous wringing. Heat and strong mechanical pressure will cause the natural wool to permanently shrink and lose its shape. After washing, gently reshape the piece by hand while it is still damp, lay it flat, and let it air dry completely in the shade (avoid direct sunlight).
HANGING & INSTALLATION
Q: How do I hang my felt tapestry or wall rug?
A: We make mounting as seamless as possible. Each wall tapestry comes with a built-in hanging sleeve on the back. You can simply slide a wooden dowel or curtain rod through the sleeve and rest it on two wall hooks.") If you prefer to use your own hanging clips or Velcro strips, the dense felt provides a sturdy base that won't stretch or tear.
